Pre-care:
• No waxing or brow shaping 72 hours prior to procedure
• Do not consume alcohol , caffeine or take any blood thinners ( ibuprofen, aspirin , niacin) 48 hours prior to procedure . It will cause excess bleeding and may affect your results
• Stop using any skin thinners ( glycolic acids, Vitamin A , retinoids ) on the brow area 2 weeks prior to your appt .
• Cosmetic Botox or fillers should be done 2 weeks prior or after procedure
• If your are pregnant or breastfeeding, you can not receive any PMU services .
• You may experience hypersensitivity and more pain around or during your menstrual cycle
Aftercare :
At Charlie Lux PMU we prioritize our clients after care to ensure the best results. Please note that individual results may vary & we can’t guarantee your specific outcome. Each client is given a aftercare kit provided by us containing a cleanser , ointment and aftercare card.
• Use gentle cleanser provided every morning & night for 7-10 days or until flaking has stopped.
• After washing thoroughly rinse cleanser & Pat dry with soft towel or gauze provided in kit .
• Do Not wipe the area , be sure to blot/pat gently
• Apply ointment provided in the after kit ( using a small rice size amount) to brows morning & night for 7-10 days or until flaky has stopped.
• Refrain from touching your healing brows with your fingers & always use clean applicators to apply ointments.
• Maintenance is essential to preserve your desire results . Touch ups are typically recommended every 9-12 months to maintain upkeep of your brows .
Dont's
• During healing process , avoid sun exposure, tanning beds , saunas , excessive sweating, swimming pools , facials , and steam rooms.
• Do not apply Vaseline , makeup , facials creams , exfoliants, retinol acids , and AHAs to the brows for 10 days
• Avoid laser light therapy’s in the brow area
Pre-care:
• It is Important to ensure your lips are fully hydrated before your appointment.
• To prepare your lips you may exfoliate them with a gentle exfoliant.
• It is recommended to moisturize your lips as much as possible the week leading up to your appointment. ( Aquaphor is great)
• IMPORTANT ** Cold sores pose a risk for lip blushing . If you’re prone to cold sores or had a cold sore in the past it’s highly advised to consult a doctor for antiviral medication prior to any lip procedure to prevent a outbreak .
• If you’ve never had a cold sore before , it’s recommended to start taking L-Lysine two weeks before & two after you’re appointment to prevent the risk.
After-care:
• Apply ointment provided in your after kit with clean lipstick applicator also provided in your kit for 14 days , multiple times daily.
• Your lips will feel tender , tight and dry , and may possibly flake. Be sure not to pick or scratch your lips during healing process .
• Avoid sun exposure , tanning beds , glycolic, hydroxy or acidic products on your lips
• Avoid alcohol, spicy , salty & acidic foods during healing process.
• Touch ups May be required 30-45 days after the initial session for desired color retention.
